- New workers are at the highest risk for injury.
- The first few days matter most.
- Ask questions — there are none too basic.
Know This Before You Work
- Site-specific hazards
- Emergency exits and muster point
- Location of first aid kit and AED
- Who your supervisor is
PPE
- Put it on before you set foot on site
- Hard hat, safety glasses, safety-toe boots are the minimum
- Ask for a replacement if yours is damaged
Speak Up
- Report every hazard, injury, or near-miss immediately
- You have the right to refuse unsafe work without retaliation
- There's no stupid question when safety is involved
